Governance
Dementia Friendly Guernsey is an unincorporated charity registered in Guernsey on 10th March 2020 with the aim of raising awareness of dementia in the community and to find ways to improve the quality of life for those who live in Guernsey or visit our islands and who have dementia.
The Charity is registered with the Guernsey Registry and Income Tax authorities, number CH636.
Prior to this, from 17 July 2015, the Charity was constituted as a partnership under the umbrella of the Guernsey Community Foundation until outgrowing this arrangement.
Trustees
The charity is managed by the Steering Group comprising Trustees who are appointed at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Charity. They are presently:
- Wayne Bulpitt CBE Chair
- Stephen Collas (Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association)
- Paul Corcoran (Health & Social Care, Specialist Nurse)
- Guy Mitchell (Dementia Champion and Care Home Director)
- Julie Bulpitt Co-ordinator and Secretary
Partnership Group
Members of the Charity will form the Partnership Group and will comprise of representatives from the following organisations and groups:
- Guernsey Alzheimer’s Association
- Alzheimer’s Society, Guernsey Branch
- Admiral Nurses, Guernsey
- States of Guernsey:
- Health & Social Care
- Education, Sport and Culture (Guernsey Museums, Libraries and Beau Sejour)
- Adult Community Services
- Nursing and Care Homes
- Doctors Surgeries
- Private carers & those living with dementia
Any other such individual or organisation that supports the purpose and objectives of the Charity and may be approved by the Steering Group.

Financial Accountability
We have a responsibility to be faithful stewards, and to maintain integrity and openness in our financial practices. We recognise our accountability to our donors and supporters.
We have an independent accountant who produces our financial statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
All Trustees, officers, co-ordinators and Dementia Champions are volunteers.
Our financial statements are available to all on request.
Privacy
We maintain tight security on our mailing lists of friends and supporters, and never sell or rent our mailing lists to any third parties. Anyone subscribed to our email lists can easily opt-out of receiving communications at any time.
