Long Term Care Benefit
This is a benefit to help meet the costs of care home fees if you are assessed as needing care, and you move to live in an approved care or private nursing home.
Severe Disability Benefit
This benefit is intended for people, (including children) Who are severely disabled, mentally or physically and who need a lot of care by day or night within their own homes.
Carers Allowance
This allowance is intended for people who care for a person who themselves are in receipt of the Severe Disability Benefit.
Pharmaceutical Service
This benefit covers the cost of prescription drugs/medicines and medical appliances apart from prescription charge. The following do not have to pay prescription charges:
- Anyone who has proof they are over pension age
- Anyone receiving Supplementary Benefit
- Anyone who has a certificate of exemption issued by Social Security
- Anyone receiving Severe Disability Benefit
- Anyone receiving support through the Medical Expenses Assistance Scheme and their dependents
